Job Title: Large Loss Claim Handler

Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum + car allowance of £4,800 per annum

iO Associates are looking for a Claim Handler to work one of our outsourced claims management solution companies based in Newcastle upon Tyne. They are one of the leading insurance claims companies who serve the reliable claim solutions who focus on customer service.

Responsibilities:

• Effective daily claim management: effective policyholder, supplier, and loss assessor interactions for the claim-related aspects you oversee.
• visit policyholders' homes to determine culpability, document, appraise, and negotiate contents claim settlements, as well as to set up and manage alternate housing for policyholders.
• In conjunction with the Buildings Surveyor Team, drive settlement (cash or reinstatement) of the Buildings element of each claim in your control.
• Produce a Large or Complex report and deliver same to the Claims SMT within agreed timeframes.
• Maintain claim files to very high quality, making sure that all correspondence, photos, and documents are precisely recorded in time order for audit, complaints analysis, and client inspection.
• In liaison with the Building Surveyor Team, manage system claim reserves and payments ensuring that Total Incurred values are as accurate in the shortest period possible and maintained as such until the claim is concluded.

Experience/knowledge

• At least 5 years previous experience of working in an insurance claims related handling role.
• High level understanding of insurance/indemnity policies and legal structure
