Lead Architect
SALARY: £86,964 - £112,541
LOCATION: Can be based in Manchester, Halifax, Bristol, Leeds or Edinburgh
HOURS:Full time
WORKING PATTERN:Hybrid, 40% (or two days per week) in an office site

As a Lead Architect with us , what would you be doing?
You’ll Contribute towards setting the architectural strategy and its development and delivery, in line with the Technology and business strategy.
Building architecture roadmaps, guardrails and patterns for delivery against our Technology strategy, keeping the customers’ needs at the heart of what you do whilst effectively adhering to Group and Technology strategies.
Bringing together business design, customer outcomes, a good understanding of architecture and the Technology strategy to drive the right enterprise outcome.
Collaborating closely with senior internal business leaders, acting as their business partner to ensure technology delivers on business outcomes .
Conduct ing external research to stay atop of industry best practice including customer and products trends, utilis ing this knowledge when delivering business design activities to enable overall corporate strategy .
Being an active member of our architecture community, shar in g and building knowledge, mentoring and coaching more junior colleagues within the team.

Skills and experience we’d need you to bring to the role...
Applied knowledge and technical expertise in modern cloud platform and hybrid hosting architecture, API architecture standards, cybersecurity or similar.
Strong experience in contributing to architecture visions and strategies, providing considered input into the decision-making process to ensure alignment with current and long-term business goals.
Previous involvement on singular or varied design-related fields such as technology led change, business analysis, business architecture, systems thinking or service design.
Experience in feasibility assessment approaches and techniques relevant to the business situation and investment options .
A sound understanding of corporate governance, demonstrated through a presence in architecture governance forums.
Experience of working in a regulated industry, preferably Financial services. We’re particularly interested in people who have experience of:
- Consumer Relationships, Lending and Enterprise Risk
- Insurance, Payments & Investments
- Business Commercial and Corporate Banking
- Corporate & Institutional Banking

- Enthusiastically monitoring and learning about future technology trends and innovations, distilling this information with our wider team, coaching and mentoring junior colleagues, whilst being open to receiving and building own knowledge.
- Understanding the importance of sustainability, championing the use of sustainability techniques, methods and tools for developing sustainable architecture.
