Job description

Hybrid role with the office in Leeds.

Job overview:


Responsible for leading, supervising & supporting the Data Analyst team. Will also provide information reporting and dashboards deliverable to both internal and external stakeholders. External is delivered to service launches/re-launches and on a routine basis; and internal is mainly to an ad-hoc/priority basis. These reports are based around measuring the value of work we are delivering towards the NHS and healthcare; and to also measure quality, KPI’s, billing measurements for internal purposes.

Principle responsibilities:


  • Supervise the Data Analyst team, managing their day-to-day work, their priorities and being a go-to for queries and support
  • Maintain/strive to improve an understanding of all major areas of analysis and statistics. This includes certain tools: MySQL, Tableau, Excel, VBA, and other BI tools
  • Work with the IT Operations Manager to improve team processes, to strive to push and use new technologies & to improve the usage of the database
  • Maintain, develop and be responsible for key reporting streams used both internally and externally
  • Work on the creation and maintenance of a suite of reports, which must be designed to be clinically sound in highlighting patient care delivered by our clinical pharmacists
  • Assist with identifying / fixing any issues or flaws in the reporting/IT systems
  • Ensure all data and reporting capabilities adhere to strict information governance guidelines regarding confidentiality and data protection laws
  • Encourage improved data quality by highlighting areas of concern to appropriate staff, liaising actively with clinical and administrative teams to understand and resolve data quality issues, and alerting managers to possible training needs
  • To support the provision of training and support to managers and clinicians in the use of
information systems and business intelligence tools
  • Ensure projects are completed within given timelines, taking ownership of the process and the management of the project

Skills and competencies:


Essential skills:
  • Good experience with using a spreadsheet software tool (such as Excel & VBA)
  • Good experience with a relational database system (preferably MySQL)
  • Good experience with an interactive dashboard software (preferably Tableau)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to project manage and prioritize
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Keen to work in a team and collaborate
Desirable skills:
  • Experience of leading a team of Data Analysts
  • Experience providing customer support and administration for web-applications
  • Experience of advanced database functions
  • Knowledge or experience of the healthcare industry (preferably long-term conditions)
  • Knowledge or experience of working closely with upper management and business processes
