Lead Data Engineer

Purpose of the Role

Lead and guide the Data Engineering Team to ensure seamless project delivery, efficient platform maintenance, and alignment with overall business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and grow an in-house data team for project delivery and platform maintenance.
• Enhance team processes while minimizing disruption to productivity.
• Manage effective collaboration between Functional and Technical teams.
• Contribute to Technical Solution Design and the Strategic Roadmap for Data.
• Provide insights and guidance on best practices and workflows.
• Prioritize tasks in alignment with business objectives.
• Collaborate with 3rd party vendors for successful integrations.
• Maintain and improve Agile development environment (CICD) processes.
• Review data platform capabilities, propose improvements, provide effort estimations, and participate in project review meetings.

Capabilities and Experience

• Proven experience managing a department of strategic importance.
• Comprehensive technical understanding across operational practices and systems.
• Leadership and financial responsibility for departmental teams and budgets.
• Analytical skills to interpret data and develop solutions in complex situations.
• Strong communication and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Extensive experience with modern cloud data platforms (AWS, GCS, Azure).
• Deep understanding of data architecture concepts and integration patterns.
• Proficient in the design and build of data models relevant to business context.
• Familiarity with the full development lifecycle and version control.
• Excellent MS SQL Server skills.
