JOB TITLE: LEAD ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct the discipline team and provide detailed and accurate reports to Maintenance Supervisor position on a regular basis, including the identification and communication of any issues that might prevent work progression
- Provide feedback and answers to queries across disciplines for the Supervisors
- Ensure safe, efficient and effective work execution for the discipline group
- Apply a level of quality control to disciplined work by actively visiting work sites, reviewing work during progress and, upon completion, ensuring high standards are applied at all times
- Assist specialist contractor personnel as necessary in the undertaking and execution of preventative and corrective maintenance activity and tasks on associated trade equipment
- Liaise with specialist vendors for manpower requirement and equipment hire
- Lead visiting specialist contractor personnel in the undertaking of their activities and tasks
- Manage yourself and team in conjunction with the supervisor, where additional hours may be required to complete critical scopes in line with the Client Fatigue Management policy
- Ensure that work is liquidated on time and in accordance with the Client’s Safe Systems of Work (SSOW)
- Generate discipline permits to a consistently high standard, ensuring all supporting isolations and documentation are provided
- Liaise with other core disciplines to ensure any support required (such as lifting / access requirements) is in place prior to work execution
- Participate in planning meetings
- Manage disciplined group consumables and spares inventory, manage inventory lists and re-order stock
- Oversee that that all scaffolding, lifting, rigging and logistics are in place prior to work execution and instruct removal upon completion of work
- Verify work sites on completion of work are suitable for handover, all tooling, unused materials returned and housekeeping are to a high standard; and all waste disposed of in correct manner
- 16. Where equipment is removed and to be returned, in conjunction with the materials controller, be responsible for managing this activity and for ensuring that all required supporting documentation and tracking are in place
- Identify materials and resource requirements as part of the notification and work order build-up process
- Raise Maintenance Change Request forms for the discipline group
- Manage discipline group assigned areas of responsibility
- Management of daily condition monitoring and system checks to update spreadsheets for Engineering
- Prioritize and deliver the weekly plan to include NOPA’s and breakdowns in a professional and safe manner
- Monitor and manage CMMS (SAP) time writing, history reporting, Work Order housekeeping, technical completions, compliance and promotion Maintenance Change Request submission; ensure work order history is entered in a timely manner and meets expected quality standards. Where applicable, also ensure that subsequent work notification sand materials are clearly defined
- Ensure both verbal & written handovers and handover logs are complete, ensuring information is current & discernible.
- Identify and deliver continuous improvements in performance and processes
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- OGUK medical
- MIST
- Permit to work system awareness (preferably ISSoW)
- Computerized planned maintenance system (preferably SAP)
- STOP and/or Synergi awareness or equivalent
- Relevant qualifications in core discipline background: refer to technician job description in appropriate discipline
- Previous supervisory experience or completion of Supervisory Management Training and Development (SMTD) or equivalent is desirable
