We are looking for a self-motivated manager to join their friendly team as an Examinations Officer on a 30 hour a week basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth running of Internal and External examinations through administration and should possess strong people and teamwork skills, alongside an organised approach to tasks and responsibilities.
Responsibilities as a Lead Examinations Officer
- Oversee the administration, organisation, and operation of all examinations, ensuring strict adherence to annual regulations set by awarding bodies (AB) and the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ).
- Uphold the confidentiality and security of examination systems.
- Establish effective communication channels for students, parents, caregivers, and colleagues.
- Set internal deadlines for the submission of Non-Examination Assessment marks and pupil entries.
- Develop and manage the examinations timetable, resolve scheduling conflicts, allocate rooms, and inform all relevant departments, subsequently uploading the finalised timetable.
- Distribute the examinations timetable to pupils.
- Handle the submission of entries to examination boards and verify invoices.
- Coordinate with Learning Support to facilitate Access Arrangements (AA) for eligible pupils.
- Prepare for the retrieval of results, generate reports, and distribute them to pupils.
- Share results with the Senior Management Team, compile subject-specific spreadsheets, and analyse statistics.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Education up to A Level or equivalent, or relevant professional experience.
- Proficient administrative skills, encompassing organization, planning, prioritization, discretion, flexibility, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, capable of meeting deadlines and adeptly managing both personal workload and a team of invigilators.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word and Excel.
- Self-starting attitude with the ability to work independently.
- Approachable, empathetic, and poised in interpersonal interactions.
It is desirable for you to have Previous experience within a school or educational setting and / or prior involvement in a School Examinations Office.
Job Title: Part time Lead Examinations Officer
Location: Lancing
Salary: £13 - £15 per hour (depending on experience)
Part Time - 30 hours
