Job description

The jobholder will be a valued member of the McQueens Flowers team, with responsibility for helping to produce exceptional floral designs and installations for our customers and leading our floral team in London. Candidates need to demonstrate a high level of creativity and technical competence as well as well-developed communication, teamwork and organizational skills. 


Our customers include some of the world’s most luxurious and demanding hotels, restaurants and event venues and organizers – all of whom expect a flawless execution of the services we have committed to provide to them. Our Florists play a vital role in making this happen, and need to be committed to going the extra mile when necessary – settling for nothing less than perfection and quality.


The role calls for a combination of passion, creativity, flexibility, team-working, interpersonal skills, organization and planning, attention to detail, and staying calm under pressure. Some of the work we do is carried out when guests are asleep or venues are closed, so early morning starts are common and night shifts sometimes necessary.


Duties may include:

  • Tasked with enforcing a consistent level of luxury across the McQueens Flower brand
  • Leading event projects from proposal through to delivery
  • Leading installation for weekly accounts from proposal through to delivery
  • Preparation of mood boards and quotes
  • Creating, developing and maintaining professional working relationships with customers Managing florists on projects
  • Answering customer requests via phone and emails.
  • Ordering of flowers and other items within a budget Overseeing conditioning and preparation of flowers in the workroom
  • Overseeing preparation of vases, materials and equipment in the workroom
  • Coordinating with clients
  • Creating seasonal retail designs for hand tied bouquets
  • Providing guidance, support and inspiration to all florists and creatives across the McQueens brand

 

Requirements:

  • 8 years floristry experience, with previous experience as a Lead Florist
  • A team player A proven ability to prepare and manage a budget
  • Excellent knowledge of the flower industry
  • Advanced knowledge of flower varieties and floristry techniques
  • A flexible approach to working hours, days and locations
  • Highly organised with good attention to detail
  • Highly motivated and able to work under pressure
  • A commitment to continuing their own professional development as well as supporting their teams
  • Good oral and written communicator in English UK Driving license
