The opportunity


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our newly established Physiotherapy Team at Cardiff Met University. The team has been created to provide support to our established and successful performance programmes who are competing at the top of university sport and in national leagues. The team will work alongside our already established and highly regarded Performance Services Team, as well as working with a team of coaches and other support services in a multi-discipline environment.


Cardiff Met Women’s team play in the Adran Premier League and our Cardiff Met Men’s team play in the Cymru Premier League with the ability to qualify for European football. We also operate an FAW licensed and accredited academy.


The Lead Football Physiotherapist will lead the planning, administration, and delivery of a robust physio provision with Cardiff Met Football Club, including a range of services but not limited to; triage, matchday cover, clinic delivery, prehab, injury management, strapping & taping and education sessions.


Whilst leading the football provision, you will have the opportunity to routinely work within a truly diverse multi-sport environment with multiple high-level practitioners in the physiotherapy and strength & conditioning team as well as our other support service in Performance Lifestyle, Psychology, Nutrition, Performance Analysis and more.


What we are looking for


The Physiotherapy Team are part of the Performance Services Team, delivering to our various performance programmes aiming to provide the very best student-athlete experience. In addition to the practical and professional knowledge that is required to implement effective and robust physio support, the candidate will need to be able to engage with our centralised student-athletes as well as de-centralised athletes to provide them with every opportunity to attain their individual potential. To excel in this role the candidate will need to adopt a flexible approach to engage with coaches and other support staff in a multi-sport environment.
