Lead Highways Engineer

Crossword Recruitment are on the lookout for a Lead Highways Engineer based near Liverpool for our client. £50 per hour (LTD rate). 3 days per week will be spent onsite and 2 days per week can be worked remotely. 

Duties will involve:

- Development and delivery of highways improvement schemes.  

- Be responsible for managing and organising reactive maintenance to highway infrastructure

- Ensure the successful delivery of highway improvement schemes, as well as acting as the project manager on various projects such as junction capacity projects, sustainable travel projects and safety projects

Experience needed:

• Good working knowledge of current traffic / highway design guides and legislation.
• Experience in planning, designing, evaluating, project managing major traffic engineering schemes and measures to improve traffic flow and junction capacity
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and associated software packages
• Strong project management skills with the ability to ensure good housekeeping in relation to project documentation
• Knowledge of Highways legal matters relating to delivery of highways projects by 3rd parties, particularly those relating to S278 and S38 and S106 agreements
• Knowledge of development control policies, standards and procedures and legal agreements, and experience of development management matters relating to highways, traffic, and drainage issues for major schemes.
