Lead Infrastructure Engineer/Solutions Architect

Fulltime/permanent role

Chiswick, West London (2 days onsite every week)


Technical Responsibilities
  1. Infrastructure Design and Architecture: Lead the design, architecture and implementation ofascalable, secure, reliable low latency trading infrastructureusingAWS cloud infrastructure.
    • MUST HAVE: Hands-on experience designing and implementing AWS cloud solutions at scale inc. Kafka or similar data streaming components.
  1. Technical Implementation and Configuration: Hands-on implementation, configuration and management of infrastructure components (networking, cloud services, internal/external data sources and storage, containerisation).
    • MUST HAVE: AWS, VPN, VPC Peering, EC2, S3, Lambda, Aurora, Docker/Kubernetes.
  1. AWS Cloud Management and Optimisation: Manageandoptimize cloud-based infrastructureonAWS, ensuring security,scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
    • MUST HAVE: Apache Airflow, AWS networking concepts such as VPN, VPC peering, subnets, security groups, NAT gateways and how to implement scalable and fault tolerant network architectures. AWS Backup and S3 versioning for business continuity.
  2. Monitoring and Logging: Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.
    • MUST HAVE: AWS CloudWatch or equivalent to ensure high availability and performance of applications and services.
  3. Best practices: Implements best practices such as Behaviour Driven Development (BDD), Test Driven Development (TDD) and continuous performance testing using open-source toolsets.

Specifically skilled at presenting complex information in concise and clear ways, applying the appropriate sense of urgency when required.
  12. Effective active listener. Holds space for other's ideas, avoids listening purely to respond; listens without ego getting in the way.
