Our client, a leading Government department are now looking to expand their existing in-house Software Development team by recruiting a lead developer.
Your new role Up to £650 per day
6 months initial contract
In this key role you will continue with hands-on development but also take the lead on a team of software engineers where you will provide coaching and mentoring.
What you'll need to succeed This role is for a Lead Engineer for a software development team. Key skills are as follows:
- Demonstrable track record as a lead developer
- Strong Java 11+ ability
- Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, REST API's, observability and monitoring, queue technologies and Spring security.
- Detailed knowledge of best practices such as SOLID principles
- Experience of building new and evolving microservices with emphasis on high availability and data integrity
- Highly experienced in test methodologies including unit testing with JUnit, use of TDD, integration tests and end-to-end testing, as a way to promote high quality codebases.
- Postgres (or other similar relational database) experience including interacting with databases from ORM technologies such as Hibernate.
- Experience of reviewing code and providing constructive feedback. Ability to interpret static code analysis reports.
- Experience of agile development practices, specifically including Scrum; and the ways of working including associated tooling (e.g. Jira and Confluence).
- Knowledge and experience of working with Git and CI/CD
