We are recruiting for a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team as they look to grow the team on a permanent basis.
You will be responsible for;
- Mechanical Design Leadership: Lead the Mechanical Design of nebulizer systems, from concept to production, ensuring functionality, reliability, and manufacturability.
- CAD Modelling: Utilize industry-standard CAD tools (Autodesk Fusion 360) to create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for components and assemblies.
- Prototyping: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and test prototypes, iterating designs based on feedback and performance evaluations.
- Material Selection: Work closely with suppliers to choose appropriate materials for components, considering factors such as biocompatibility, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Tolerance Analysis: Conduct tolerance analysis to ensure proper fit and function of components, considering manufacturing processes and assembly requirements.
- DFM/DFA: Implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to optimize the manufacturing process and reduce production costs.
- Testing and Validation: Develop and execute testing protocols to validate the performance and safety of nebulizer systems, documenting results and making design improvements as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in Mechanical Design, preferably in the medical device or consumer products industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks, Autodesk, etc.
- Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and rapid prototyping methods.
- Experience with prototyping and testing methodologies.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for medical devices (FDA, ISO, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
