Job description

Our client is a cutting-edge medical technology startup dedicated to revolutionizing respiratory care through innovative solutions. As they continue to grow, we are seeking a talented Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team and lead the development of next-generation technologies.


Key responsibilities:

  • Mechanical Design Leadership: Lead the Mechanical Design of their systems, from concept to production, ensuring functionality, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • CAD Modelling: Utilize industry-standard CAD tools (Autodesk Fusion 360) to create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for components and assemblies.
  • Prototyping: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and test prototypes, iterating designs based on feedback and performance evaluations.
  • Material Selection: Work closely with suppliers to choose appropriate materials for components, considering factors such as biocompatibility, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Tolerance Analysis: Conduct tolerance analysis to ensure proper fit and function of components, considering manufacturing processes and assembly requirements.
  • DFM/DFA: Implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to optimize the manufacturing process and reduce production costs.


To be considered for the role, you must closely match the following criteria:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in Mechanical Design, preferably in the medical device or consumer products industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks, Autodesk, etc.
  • Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and rapid prototyping methods.
  • Experience with prototyping and testing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for medical devices (FDA, ISO, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems is a plus.
