Form of workWe have a great opportunity for a Lead Procurement Manager to join a successful team, to manage and develop various elements of the Property category including developing the strategy for Distribution Automation which will require working alongside technology, distribution and property colleagues.
You will also be working with senior colleagues within the business to create, build, and develop category plans in line with Tesco’s key objectives. Role modelling the ability to work with various colleagues and negotiate with suppliers are key experiences required for this role.
You will be responsible for- Delivering high savings targets through implementation of robust sourcing events, ensuring that suppliers meet all operational requirements whilst providing the best value for Tesco
- Ensure positive relationships with suppliers & colleagues to support, endorse and deliver plans aligned to category procurement strategies to realise business savings and support innovation
- Developing and delivering procurement strategies, which truly support the Tesco business objectives
- Writing and delivering the procurement category plan for Distribution Automation
- Implementation of robust contracts across the category
- Consistently track and report on savings targets for specified sub-categories using the agreed process
- Lead supplier reviews, acting as the point of contact for contract-related issues
- Assess the opportunity to maximise scale and work with Tesco International teams and subsidiary business’
- Review existing and potential new suppliers and assess their sustainability to supply Tesco, minimising risk, and optimising service
- Using good judgement, build new and develop existing supplier relationships to ensure continued suitability and create greater value across the organisation
- Procurement expertise with a background in managing GSNFR categories preferable
- Strong leadership skills – the ability to lead and mentor a team of 2 Procurement Managers
- Experience in developing talent to grow our capability with creative and ambitious opportunities
- Procurement management, contract management and negotiation skills, experience of managing large multi-million pound sourcing events
- Strong commercial savviness alongside ability to influence and challenge the norm. Able to bring new concepts and ideas to life, and bring senior colleagues on board
- Capability to lead multiple projects simultaneously, driving innovation across the category
