This is a Pivotal role, where the successful candidate will be the SME for the team, playing a key role on this exciting, long-term naval defence programme.
What you'll be doing:
Delivery of Power & Propulsion hazards/risks to ALARP, preparation/approval of safety and other design disclosure and safety documents, including attendance at Product Safety & Environment Working Groups and Hazard Review Working Group meetings
Approval of all Power & Propulsion domain technical specifications for the client
Reviews of OEM bids, design disclosure, engineering interfaces, safety, materials, VCRIs, Test Schedules and submissions for LR Class Approvals
Provision of SQEP guidance to the Power & Propulsion engineering delivery team
Approval of all key deliverables produced by OEMs, including technical bid evaluations, assessments of engineering design disclosure, engineering interfaces, safety, materials, software, VCRIs, Test Schedules and submissions for LR Class Approvals
Monthly Engineering metrics and reports
Your skills and experiences:
Competent Safety practitioner
Strong background in Power & Propulsion design and associated practices
Good understanding of maritime design, manufacturing, assembly, commissioning, integration and testing lifecycle and processes
Excellent communication skills and comfortable building external/client relationships.
