The Team:The Commercial Engineering, is part of a thriving engineering community in Technology who design, develop and operate News UK's commercial products and platforms. We are ushering in a new age of products, focusing on new technologies, enhancements and platforms that will drive our strategic goals across the ecosystem, starting with the core websites of The Sun and the Times, and including a portfolio of products such as Dream Team, Sun Football and others.
Your Role:You’ll be an important part of this Commercial Team in delivering quality software, required to lead from the front, to show proactivity, initiative, excellent teamwork and good judgement. You will help define, implement Test and Automation Strategy continuously improve and adopt quality standards and metrics .
Day to day you will:
You’ll work in an agile environment with the commercial team and with stakeholders to ensure the quality standards across all our apps and websites.
You’ll collaborate with your peers across QA, DevOps and engineering in London, Sofia and Bangalore to advocate QA/Automation Test Strategy.
Working with third party vendors and partners to make sure that the websites, apps and other features developed are aligned with News UK standards.
Managing QA tools like Browesstack, Balazemeter, Percy etc.
Running Hackathons, Lunch and Learn sessions, Automation guilds.
You as a QA lead take ownership of QA activities, oversee, participate and evolve the QA process.
What we’re looking for from you:
Devising and designing automation framework using Cypress for web based applications and also building automation frameworks for apps using Xcuitest or Appium for ios and android apps
Test Management (Zephyr) across the full life cycle involving internally developed and partner/vendor managed solutions
Ability to build test teams and drive testing activities proactively, managing risk and assuring the quality of the delivery for all dev/test life cycles using Agile/Kanban methodologies
Strong knowledge of Integration testing (E2E) and testing methodologies
Previous experience of using CI/CD tools like circle CI and hands on experience in cloud technologies(AWS)
Ability to build relationships with, and influence, key stakeholders, programme resources, and partners/vendors
As a QA lead, build a structured approach to delivery and the ability to prioritise and re-prioritise as necessary
Experience of managing technical SDET’s and senior QA Engineer
In-depth experience in any of the programing languages like JavaScript, Typescript
