Learner Progression & Success Coach

Ongoing Role

Zero Hour Contract

Predominately Remote Working

We are happy to be recruiting for one of our high-profile public services clients. They are currently looking for a Learner Progression & Success Coach to join them on an ad-hoc basis for an ongoing programme of work.

Purpose of the role:

The purpose of the role is to guide and support learners through every stage of their journey. The coaches will liaise closely with the delivery, customer impact and quality teams, and supply chain partners delivering training. Coaches will contact and provide support for adults that are both in employment and unemployed. The Coach will engage with learners to understand their requirements for skills and training, and to support their move into sustainable employment or career progression, as varying levels of support maybe required. Training may be delivered by in-house delivery teams, or in partnership with third party training providers.

Key accountabilities:

  • Actively support, coach, and motivate learners across the entire learner journey, to help them with the timely completion of their learning goals and to facilitate their progression.
  • Review learner's initial assessment results (English, maths, digital and any learning support needs)
  • Meet with learners (via video call or face to face as required). Provide tailored information, advice and guidance to learners, accounting for the results of their initial assessment, the learner's circumstances, their support needs, and their aspirations/career aims and job role (if employed)
  • Update individual learning plans (ILP) with the learner and where relevant, their employer.
  • Facilitate the course application process to enable the learner to access the qualifications agreed within their ILP. This may include booking them on to delivered training, or courses offered through supply chain partners.
  • Working with administrators, ensure learners are registered with the relevant awarding bodies.
  • Attend regular learner progress reviews, providing support and coaching to assist the learner to achieve their goals (including relevant support for LLDD and ALN learners)
  • Provide regular IAG, soft skills support and coaching to enable the learner to progress (e.g., onto further learning, an apprenticeship, a job interview, or additional responsibility at work)
  • Maintain accurate records and update relevant systems to track learner progress, and to support quality and data teams by providing information to satisfy the regulatory requirements of Ofsted, funding bodies and awarding bodies.
  • Manage and protect all customer information, this includes sensitive information in accordance with the relevant legislation.
  • Contribute to the effective implementation of the Quality improvement plan and participate in the self-assessment process.
  • Encourage learner participation in regular feedback surveys to inform quality improvement.
  • Undertake professional development and training to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the Skills and training services delivered within the company and through its supply chain.
  • Carry out all duties with due regard to Health and Safety operations to ensure alignments with the clients SMS and Health and Safety leadership.
  • Positively promote equality of opportunity for staff and learners
  • Undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required commensurate with the level of responsibility.

Required skills, knowledge, and qualifications:

  • Qualified to at least Level 3 IAG - information, advice, and guidance - Desirable (or willing to undertake such training)
  • Must meet the training and development requirements of the job role.
  • Experience of delivering IAG within an education and skills environment - Desirable
  • Commitment to personal development and learning
  • Knowledge and understanding of coaching techniques to motivate learners who may be disengaged.
  • Performance focused with a desire to deliver an excellent customer service.
  • A desire and commitment to achieving results and targets.
  • Strong administration skills, ability to record information accurately and demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and written, including patience and empathy.
  • Active listening and ability to assess, understand and tailor information to individual's needs.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, support colleagues and promote excellent team spirit.
  • Caseload management skills, demonstrate the ability to plan and organise time and tasks effectively, and escalate issues as they arise.
  • Strive to succeed and maintain a pro-active attitude.
  • Support the team in the implementation of innovation and change to ensure the company deliver a high quality, efficient and profitable service.
  • Establish and maintain good communications and strong professional links with all personnel/teams involved in programme delivery and management.

Location:

This is a predominately remote working role. However, there may be a requirement to attend meetings from the clients Solihull office approximately 1 day a month.

Working hours:

This is a zero-hour contract on an ad-hoc basis to support in busier periods.
