Scope:
As an Equipment Learning & Development Specialist, you will be responsible for the continuous knowledge and skills development of Field Service Engineers, both from within the company and from our distributors.
In essence this will involve the design, organization, deployment, delivery and management of complete training programs, using a range of tools and materials, using a range of delivery mechanisms, including self-service E-learning, In-person, classroom based, and trainer-led live web-based training.

Training delivery will form part of these responsibilities, and should be delivered in a professional manner, utilizing the training tools available to you. Management of trainee’s development will also form part of your responsibilities. Full end-to-end management of learners, from filtering new, or existing learners into appropriate, available training, based on competence, skills, experience and availability. Assessing ongoing progress, feeding back to relevant stakeholders, and tailoring learning for
each learner to allow them to develop in the most efficient, and effective way possible.

In order to provide continuous, high-quality training, there may at times be a need for the creation, development,maintenance and implementation of training materials relating to products we offer training for.

This will include digital E-learning materials (working with SCORM compliant software and materials), hand-outs, tests and testing methodology.
Training should be delivered in the most cost and time effective manner, ensuring that trainees learn the maximum amount of useful information in the minimum necessary amount of time.
All training will be conducted in line with the requirements, and directives of the training manager. You will also be responsible for the maintenance of training equipment and training locations. As a trainer, you will also assist in the creation and development of a global knowledgebase in collaboration with our design, first line support and product management teams.

 

Job Summary:
As a Fertility Equipment Learning & Development Specialist, you will be expected to ensure that you are always fully capable of delivering technical training to a high standard, for a variety of learners of differing competencies, and often to learners who English language skills may be variable.

Training should be delivered in the most efficient manner in
order to reduce the time needed for learners to achieve suitable levels of competency. This should be achieved by using a combination of E-learning, in-person training, and trainer-led live webinars.

All training materials and information should be maintained to be as up-to-date as possible, incorporating any product or manual changes as they are released.

Training may be required to be delivered in a variety of ways, including: -
In-person at a dedicated training center, often hands-on with our equipment, tools and calibration devices.
In-person at a suitable 3rd party location, such as a hotel or distributors office for example
Online live, trainer-led webinars / demonstrations etc.
E-learning self-study. As a product trainer, you will be required to ensure that E-learning materials and lessons are maintained and current, as well as ensuring that all suitable means of testing and assessing trainees are deployed to allow trainees to achieve their full potential.
Provide product feedback to relevant departments to drive improvements.
Plan and manage learner development from initial training request to fully skilled field operatives.


In conjunction with our First Line Support, Product Management, R&D and Service teams, assist in knowledge creation and collaboration to develop global knowledge database.

 

Travel:
Travel may be required up to 75% of any given month, and up to 130 days per year, in line with any requirements from the department and/or the training manager. Occasional weekend travel may be required. Travel must comply with the company’s T&E policy at all times.

All travel plans must be approved by the Training Manager before booking.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • A training qualification, or proven experience in creating/delivering training (Essential)
  • A proven track record in the planning and execution of tailored, blended learning training development programs (Essential)
  • A proven track record of creating and deploying digital learning content, particularly SCORM compliant content (Essential)
  • A technical qualification is preferred but not essential (Degree preferred), or proven experience in Electronics or Mechanical Engineering
  • IT software literate (Particularly XML and Powerpoint – Essential. MS Office – Highly desirable)
  • Hands-on experience from handling, repairing and implementing technical, medical/IVF equipment or experience of installing, servicing and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment would be advantageous.
  • An ability to work alone and unsupervised, whilst delivering strong results, as well as also being able to function strongly as a team player are essential.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written (English is essential, additional languages are desirable).
  • Strong presentation skills both in-person to large groups, small groups, and via web conferencing.
  • Resourcefulness – an ability to be a creative problem solver is desirable due to the nature of the work, and the variety of locations etc.
  • High attention to detail
  • Logical, practical, and resourceful
  • Right first-time approach

 

Work Environment:

  • Occasional heavy lifting may be required (up to 50Kgs)
  • There may be a requirement to travel to different time-zones whilst still being able to maintain our high standards.
  • Different locations may present different, unforeseen challenges. Equipment, tools etc. may be missing, broken etc., so resourcefulness and an ability to work under pressure may be required.
  • Trainees will arrive with differing abilities, cultures and language skills, all of which will need to be considered in order to ensure they fulfil their potential fully.

 

Experience:

  • Proven ability to design, organize, deploy, conduct and monitor complete training syllabuses using blended learning.
  • Proven experience of trainee development management
  • Digital content creation experience – SCORM content essential
  • Proven mechanical engineering experience, or relevant product experience preferred but not essential.
  • Proven ability to both speak/present publicly and be a strong communicator to both groups and individuals.
