What is the job role?
As a Learning Mentor, your primary role will be to provide individualised support to pupils, in collaboration with teaching and other pastoral staff, to promote their emotional well-being and enhance their learning experiences.

Day to day responsibilities as a Learning Mentor:
- Mentoring and guiding the pupils identified as needing support
- Devising, implementing and evaluating individual pupil action plans
- Working alongside class teachers, pastoral staff, SEND Leader and other external agencies to identify pupils with barriers to learning and at risk of disaffection
- Assisting students with SEND to set and achieve personal and educational targets
- Engage and assist with various learning activities and programs
- Implement strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours
- Be a positive role model, helping pupils build confidence and self-esteem
- Work closely with teachers, parents and the pastoral team to create a comprehensive support network for each student

We are searching for an enthusiastic and committed Learning Mentor to help our pupils overcome challenges and succeed both academically and personally at Willenhall Community Primary School.
Qualifications and Experience:
- NVQ Level 3 qualification or higher (or equivalent)
- Previous experience working with vulnerable young people/children
- Experience in SEND, challenging behaviour is also highly desirable
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of young people
- Empathetic, patient, and resilient nature
