Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Mentor to join our team immediately. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting students' educational development, focusing on addressing their social, emotional, and mental health needs. This is a temporary position that will last for the duration of the academic year.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, addressing academic and behavioural needs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of personalised learning plans for students with SEMH needs.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment through mentor ship and guidance.
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a comprehensive approach to student development.
- Monitor and record student progress, adapting support strategies to meet individual needs.
- Work closely with the school's leadership team to contribute to the overall educational and emotional well-being of students.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Learning Mentor or similar role in an educational setting.
- Understanding of effective mentoring and support strategies for students with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A positive and adaptable attitude in addressing various learning challenges.
- Relevant qualifications in education, counselling, or a related field.
