As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) you will assist the classroom teacher on a daily basis, working with children with mild learning needs.
The primary school is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Needs, Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team on a part time basis. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in supporting students with diverse learning needs, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative approach to working with educators and parents. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with special educational needs.
Responsibilities of a Learning Support Assistant (LSA):
- Provide individualized support to students with special educational needs, both in the classroom and during designated support sessions.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement and adapt lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere where every student feels valued and supported.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
- Assist with the management of classroom behaviour and implement strategies to support positive behaviour.
Qualifications that you will require as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA):
- Previous experience working with students with special educational needs is preferred.
- Relevant qualification in special education or a related field is an advantage. Level 3 qualification is preferred but not
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning needs of all students.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other support staff.
