Taverham High School is a popular and successful 11-18 mixed comprehensive school in Norwich. The school was substantially redeveloped under the PFI in 2007, our facilities are first class. The school became an academy in April 2013.
The primary purpose of our LSA role is to provide support for teaching and learning of students with special educational needs (SEN); support learners in the classroom so that they can access the curriculum, participate in learning and experience a sense of success and achievement; to work with colleagues to raise the learning and attainment of pupils while also promoting their independence, self-esteem and social inclusion; to offer intervention for individual or small groups of learners. The LSA role is an active post suited to candidates with drive, passion, empathy and resilience.
We are looking to appoint someone who:
- is keen to work with secondary age students who experience a wide range of barriers to learning resulting from their SEN and/or disabilities
- has experience of working with students with SEN and associated challenging behaviour
- has high standards of professional conduct, with good numeracy, literacy and computer skills
- is proactive with the motivation and skills needed to work well in a team and independently
