Temporary Leasehold Finance Officer/Admin – Housing

Pay Rate: £19.95 per hour PAYE
Hours per week: 36 Monday to Friday, normal working hours
Role Length: This opening assignment is for 5-6 months
City: Wembley, London
The role of a Finance Leasehold Officer is to collect service charges and major works charge arrears owing to the organisation as efficiently and effectively as possible. The post holder has significant individual responsibility for managing workload, early identification and intervention within an agreed income management framework.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure that all residents understand their responsibility to pay service charges and major works on time.
Collect and process payments relating to Service Charges and major works.
Refer uncollected debts to the organisations nominated solicitor and administer all necessary correspondence in a timely fashion.
Liaise with colleagues and engage with other department resolving disputes and maximising income
Support the calculation of service charges for estimates and actuals to enable timely processing of final accounts.
Ensuring that the leasehold accounts are managed in accordance with the terms of the leases, transfer documents, legislation and best practice.

Skills & Experience
Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
Sound knowledge of best practice in management of income recovery, debt counselling & debt collection.
Good time management skills, ability to prioritise, work to deadlines & meet targets.
Effective negotiating skills.
Able to form and maintain good working relationships at all levels.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
