Job Title: Leather Goods and Accessories Assistant
Reporting To: Design Director, Leather Goods and Accessories
Hours: 40 per Week
Please Note: This is a Leather Goods and Accessories role, please do not apply if you do not have accessories experience. This is not a graduate role so please ensure you have UK right to work.
Responsibilities:
- Work on developing and presenting sketches by hand, and Illustrator. Responsible for technical drawings, 3D mock-ups, detailed specs and comments.
- Keep up to date with accessories and fashion market from season to season.
- Collaborate with all Menswear, Womenswear, and footwear Designer to ensure a unified attitude and style direction each season.
- Attend design meetings and present work to Head of Design plus support to LG designer.
- Communication of collection to the business through mood boards and visual overviews of collection.
- Make sure design procedures are adhered to and identify any opportunities for process improvement.
- Keep an organised filing system so that all materials, drawings and photographs for the season and are easily accessible.
- Work closely with Product Managers on development to pass designs, comments, updates and ensure artwork cohesion.
- Research of new materials and potential travel for development trips, leather and fabric fairs.
About You:
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role for a luxury or contemporary brand.
- Expert in Adobe Suite with experience in graphic design and technical placements.
- Proven technical experience in designing accessories.
- Ability to closely follow instructions and to work independently whilst taking initiative.
- Attention to detail and strong communication skills.
- Relevant Degree in Fashion Design, with skills in illustration and visual communication.
- Self-motivated and enjoys working in a team collaboratively plus independently.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and great organisational skills.
- Job is extremely varied and can work on several special projects and collaborations in unison, it is important to be adaptable, flexible and resourceful.
