Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, Psychology This part time post (0.1fte) is available on a fixed term contract from April 2024 to 31st December 2024 in Clinical Education Development and Research (CEDAR), Psychology on the High Intensity CBT (HI CBT) training programme. The role The post will include supporting the continued design, development and delivery of the High Intensity CBT training programme and implementing innovative and appropriate teaching practices within CEDAR. The post holder will have responsibility for the delivery of some clinical elements of the HI programme as well as other responsibilities, such as marking, being 1:1 tutor to students and supporting the Clinical Leads in accord with the Faculty’s education strategy and implementing the External Affairs strategy. Specific Purposes of the Job: Support the Clinical Leads in delivering clinical aspects of the training programme including clinical skills tutorials Contribute to the assessment strategy including module descriptors, marking process in defined area in linewith TQA Contribute to Accreditation / registration submissions as needed within area Support recruitment alongside the Academic, Clinical and Programme Leads Provide teaching in defined areas as needed Provide individual tutorials to students Assess work and provide feedback to students About you For a Lecturer post you will: Possess a good honours degree in Psychology or a related discipline (at least a 2:1 or equivalent) Possess a depth or breadth of specialist knowledge demonstrated by a doctorate level training or the necessary equivalent in Clinical Psychology or related clinical area in Mental Health of the core knowledge relating to clinical/academic area in order to teach and support learning on academic area (CBT) modules Possess an in-depth understanding of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, High Intensity training and supervision to facilitate the development of Trainee High Intensity Therapists towards competent CBT practice. Have BABCP practitioner accreditation Use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students; Participate in and develop external networks, for example, to contribute to student recruitment, secure student placements, facilitate outreach work, generate income, obtain consultancy projects, or build relationships for future activities; Will have evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review and have made an impact at discipline programme level beyond their own teaching; Be expected to work towards Fellow of the HEA status and to attend formal CPD relating to this.
