Lecturer – Group Lead: Buying & Merchandising (Online Provision)
Remote / Online Teaching, with occasional travel to the EFI’s sites in Central London
Fixed-Term Maternity Cover until January 2025
Part-Time (0.5)
About the role
To support our ambitious and ongoing expansion and diversification plans, we have an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced and qualified Lecturer to join our expanding Online Delivery team.
As one of our Lecturers (‘Group Leads’), you will develop, deliver and teach our Online Course in Buying & Merchandising at Level 4. The role requires a dynamic and experienced Lecturer to engage students wholly in online learning, with full commitment to developing engaging and interactive learning resources.
The successful candidate will be able to communicate a broad range of industry-relevant knowledge and skills to deliver the qualification. You will have one designated student group and be their primary Lecturer and pastoral tutor, hence ‘Group Lead’; this is an exciting opportunity to develop successful and innovative student-centred learning and to nurture your students for success. The course is taught wholly online and requires evening teaching commitments on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and twilight support via tutorials both group and 1:1 as well as supporting industry mentoring and forums.
As the Group Lead, you will be responsible, with the support of our Digital Learning Co-ordinator, for the development of weekly interactive, audio-visual learning resources to support directed learning ready for the live taught session. Students will receive the resources via our bespoke CANVAS site ready for class.
The course teaches students the fundamental functions of Buying & Merchandising; this is a course written in partnership and with endorsement from industry.
About you
- The ideal candidate will have a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one upon appointment.
- We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and an innovative and open-minded approach to curriculum design and development.
- The successful candidate will also be able to work flexibly given the nature of the course.
- Experience of dynamic online delivery.
Please note that this role is a remote / online teaching position, however there will occasionally be times that you are required on-site at the EFI (London, Liverpool Street) for CPD and training.
