Lecturer in Academic Practice

£37,458 - £40,911 p.a. pro rata

Fixed term to 30 June 2024

14.8 hours per week

About the Role

The Centre for Academic Development and Quality (CADQ) are looking to recruit a Lecturer in Academic Practice (Tutor Lead), who has excellent knowledge of UK Higher and/or Further Education, and ideally a solid knowledge of the degree Apprenticeships funding and regulations.  

You will join our highly experienced Academic Practice team, and work with them to provide the framework for colleagues to establish and advance their own professional development. You will also join a university that is the largest provider in the sector for the Academic Professional Apprenticeship and the provider with the highest number of distinctions in the UK.  

  • Do you enjoy working remotely and using your own initiative to manage your time?   

  • Do you understand the principles of work-based learning? Do you have knowledge of Degree Apprenticeships?  

  • Have you got a passion for enhancing the learning & teaching experience of our staff and students?  

  • Do you consider yourself to be an excellent communicator, with a proven track record in stakeholder engagement?  

  • Are you highly organised and able to work independently as well as collaboratively to tight deadlines? 

  • Do you have experience teaching on a L7 Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education?  

  • Can you provide excellent actionable feedback?  

As a Lecturer in Academic Practice (Tutor Lead) you will act as the main point of contact for learners undertaking the Postgraduate Certificate in Learning & Teaching in Higher Education. You will support the APA/PGCLTHE learners to prepare for the End Point Assessment and monitor their progress. You will act as an important link between the Course team and the apprentices’ employers.  You will play an integral role in the management of the employer/university relationship by developing and managing positive relationships with learners and employers. You will support and assess the progress of learners providing high-quality sessions and feedback.
