About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Design team for a 0.4 Lecturer in Animation and Games art, with good experience in the creative industries and expertise in creative direction.
The postholder will have extensive and in-depth knowledge of 2D and 3D digital workflows and techniques applicable to games and interactive. They will have a strong knowledge of 3D digital pipelines with a particular focus on Maya, Blender, ZBrush, Unity and Unreal Engine.
Within this role, you will teach, assess, and provide constructive feedback on students work and give them creative direction to produce the best possible creative outcomes. An awareness of AI in its current and developing forms within the creative industries is essential and you will help navigate it’s legitimate and productive use within creative workflows.
What you can bring
The successful candidate will have a strong track record of experience working as an animator within the creative industries and ideally some experience of teaching in higher education. You will be a very strong communicator and able to demonstrate great creative skills. You will understand, and be able to nurture the key skills and knowledge that design students will need, in order to succeed as professional creatives.
