Faculty of Health and Life Sciences We have one permanent (0.2FTE) Lecturer role available to support the MSc Leading Research Delivery programme which is one of the suite of postgraduate taught programmes in the Department of Clinical and Biomedical Sciences This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home. The role The post of Lecturer in Leading Clinical Research Delivery will be to support the delivery of the MSc in Leading Clinical Research Delivery, a fully online programme which has been developed in line with the NIHR-AoMRC Clinician Researcher Credentials Framework. The programme supports practising clinical professionals already working or aspiring to work in the Clinical Research Delivery workforce. The post holder will ideally have experience if working on NIHR funded research programmes and have specialist knowledge in at least one of the following areas: clinical trial governance, research methods, project development, data collection, ethics, implementing Clinical Research in practice. Responsibilities will include online teaching (synchronous and asynchronous) on the MSc in Leading Clinical Research Delivery programme. This includes lecturing, developing and running tutorials, supervising projects and providing academic support to our postgraduate students. You will also undertake academic administrative duties as required. About you For a Lecturer post you will: Possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist and core knowledge in the discipline, demonstrated by a PhD (or nearing completion) or equivalent in Clinical Research to develop teaching programmes, and teach and support learning; Use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students Participate in and develop external networks, for example, to contribute to student recruitment, secure student placements, facilitate outreach work, generate income, obtain consultancy projects, or build relationships for future activities; Will have evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review and have made an impact at discipline programme level beyond their own teaching; Be expected to work towards Fellow of the HEA status and to attend formal CPD relating to this.
