Job description

Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England with centres in York, Middlesbrough, Saltaire, Wakefield and Gateshead.

We offer a wide-ranging curriculum to our Further Education students, including Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Management, Countryside and the Environment, Engineering, Equine, Floristry, Motorsport, Outdoor Adventure Sport, Sports Development, Coaching and Fitness, Uniformed Public Services and Veterinary Nursing.

We define the values and qualities that we require from our people using the Askham Bryan College DNA. Hardwired in to what we do, our DNA strands ensure that all colleagues are committed to delivering with purpose, taking ownership, building trust and always learning.

Our staff benefits include 35 days annual leave plus bank holidays, Local Government Pension Scheme/Teachers Pension Scheme, Staff Discounts, Colleague engagement days, Cycle to Work Scheme, ABC Awards (Staff Recognition Scheme), beautiful campuses and free on-site parking (York, Middlesbrough, Gateshead).

We are seeking an individual who will be responsible for the support and delivery of Motorsport qualifications. Sector experience and technical qualifications in the motor trade are essential.

The successful candidate will support and deliver a range of units and levels across our Motorsport provision, no teaching qualifications necessary. You will receive high-quality teacher training and personal development opportunities.

With experience in the Motorsport/Motor Vehicle industry and a passion for what you do, you may not have experience in teaching, but must be willing to work in a dynamic and challenging environment that is exciting, engaging and rewarding. Above all, you will be ready to learn and keen to positively influence the future of our students.

For Further information, please see attached Job Description and Person Specification.

Safeguarding Statement

The College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff, volunteers and partners to share this commitment. The Governors and Staff at Askham Bryan College regard each learner as a unique individual and therefore seek to support learner development in ways, which will foster security, confidence and independence. We recognise that high self-esteem, peer support, a secure College environment and clear lines of communication with trusted adults helps all young people and adults particularly those at risk or suffering abuse. These are regarded as central to the wellbeing of the individual and are therefore seen to be an intrinsic part of all aspects of the curriculum and ethos.
