Lecturer in Secondary Initial Teacher Education

HE Lecturer (£37,458 - £40,911 p.a. pro rata)

Part time/Permanent

2 x 17.5 hours positions - One role with a humanities specialism and one with a physical education specialism.

About the Role

  • You would be employed as an Initial Teacher Education (ITE) Lecturer with a subject specialism in either a humanities subject or in physical education.

  • You would be responsible for subject specific teaching in your subject area including planning and marking.

  • You would act as a lead mentor, supporting our excellent mentors in schools and as a personal academic tutor for a group of beginning teachers here at NTU.

  • There will be travel required to conduct visits to settings and so having your own transportation would be a requirement of the role

  • We have an exciting new curriculum in place for 2024 and there are opportunities to shape this provision in the future.

  • Knowledge and experience of supporting beginner teachers would be an advantage as would any experience of mentoring or ITE coordination.

  • You will be part of a successful course OFSTED GOOD rated in 2023 with a drive to support excellent mentoring and create research informed teachers of the future.

Please note - A Monday would be a non negotiable working day on site at Clifton Campus with the remaining commitment flexible to suit the successful applicants with hybrid working available. This position would also include visits to secondary school settings.
