SalaryChichester College have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Lecturer/Assessor in Motor Vehicleat our Crawley campus. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of GBP23,264 - GBP40,839 per annum, plus GBP610.08 Crawley Weighting.
The Lecturer/Assessor in Motor Vehicle role:
Our Motor Vehicle department is seeking a motivated and experienced individual to teach our students, delivering both practical and theory lessons. Alongside this there will be the opportunity to work with our apprentices in Light Vehicle and Motorcycles.
Motor Vehicle or motorcycle trade experience is essential. You will need to hold relevant trade qualifications at Level 3 as desirable, Level 2 as a minimum, ideally you will also hold a full teaching qualification (training will be offered to the right candidate).
You need to be prepared to work with all students enrolled at Crawley College including 14-16, Apprentices as well as full time L1, L2 and L3.
Key Responsibilities of ourLecturer/Assessor in Motor Vehicle:
- Undertaking teaching and learning related activities, including tutoring, as agreed.
- Ensuring that appropriate learning materials are prepared and assessments and assignments are undertaken in a timely manner.
- Undertaking administration and provide reports and statistics regarding student and teaching matters.
- Taking an active role in the achievement of high individual student retention and success rates, meeting or surpassing the relevant targets for each.
- Developing curricula and learning activities, taking into consideration literacy and numeracy development, and equality and diversity.
- Understanding personal responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding.
- Keeping up-to-date with current issues, changes, and policies relating to the educational sector.
- Participating in marketing activities and promote the College for the purpose of gaining sponsorship, advertising, good public relations and increased recruitment.
Our ideal Lecturer/Assessor in Motor Vehicle should have the below skills and experience:
- Level 2 (or equivalent) in related subject
- Relevant industrial/commercial/subject experience
- Experience in curriculum delivery and associated administration
- An understanding of safeguarding vulnerable groups
- The ability to work alone and as part of a team with interpersonal skills
- Innovative and creative in meeting the needs of learners
- To obtain an appropriate teaching qualification as defined by the Corporation
