Lecturer/Assistant Professor In Applied And Computational Mathematics

The School of Mathematics and Statistics at University College Dublin is seeking to appoint a permanent Lecturer/Assistant Professorin Applied and Computational Mathematics. This new post supports UCD’s strategic themes, in particular Transforming through Digital Technology. The UCD College of Science, to which the School of Mathematics and Statistics belongs, is undergoing an exciting transformation under the guiding principle of `data in science, science in data’. About the successful candidate The successful candidate will be expected to develop and sustain a leading research programme in Applied Mathematics, including publishing in peer-reviewed academic journals, the supervision of research students and the development and submission of competitive applications for external funding. The candidate will be expected to develop a research programme that broadens and integrates with current areas of Applied Mathematics research in the School. The successful candidate will also be expected to be committed to pursuing excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching across the School’s wide-ranging programmes, and to contribute to the development and delivery of new programmes. 95 Lecturer/Assistant Professor (above the bar) Salary Scale: €60,261 - €95,425 per annum Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines Closing date: 17:00hrs (local Irish time) on the 12th February 2024 Applications must be submitted by the closing date and time specified.
