Our client requires a highly detail oriented and organised Legal and Compliance Specialist to provide vital support by handling general compliance inquiries, organising documents, managing IT systems, and approving materials and contracts. You will be the kind of person who wants to make a genuine difference within your day-to-day work, but of course there are a few other requirements:

  • Have a basic understanding of contracts and confidence in reading contractual documents
  • Be proficient with IT systems and tech-savvy
  • Ideally a driver with own vehicle due to remote location
  • Hold a Law degree (preferred but not essential)
  • Have a working knowledge of project management and/or business process management (preferred but not essential)
  • Possess strong attention to detail
  • Exhibit excellent organisational skills
  • Demonstrate strong communication abilities
  • Be outgoing, collaborative, responsible, and able to proactively engage with various stakeholders

In this role you will be working in and amongst the Legal and Compliance department, where your valuable support will ensure the management of compliance risks, help devise Legal and Compliance processes and so on. You will also be responsible for:

  • Support the Compliance function by identifying, assessing, managing, and mitigating local compliance risks. Provide guidance on compliance matters and act as a point of contact for basic queries, assisting the Compliance Manager as needed.
  • Assist in creating and implementing Legal and Compliance processes.
  • Ensure templates are accurately completed and manage Legal and Compliance templates and related documentation.
  • Oversee governance for information and document storage across the organization as the Local Records Management Coordinator, ensuring the Legal and Compliance department's information is organized and accessible.
  • Serve as the main user of tools and systems like DocuSign and contract repositories for managing contracts and related documents.
  • Provide day-to-day support for Department operations, including communications and administration.

Location: Burgess Hill (Hybrid, 2 days in office)

Salary: £17.95 per hour excluding holiday pay (PAYE) OR £23.81 per hour (UMB)

Full Time, 12 month contract - Inside IR35
