Markel
Looking to ignite your career comeback in a global organisation with an unparalleled culture? If so, we want to hear from you.
Markel is a global specialty insurance provider with a truly people-first approach. We have the tools, knowledge and experience to offer our clients unique solutions across a wide variety of risks. We have our own trusted Lloyd's syndicate but can also underwrite risks through our other Markel companies, depending on where our clients are in the world. We have specialists across the UK, Europe, Asia, Australia, India, The Middle East, and North America.
But it's our people and the relationships they develop with colleagues, brokers and clients that make us so unique.
And so, because we understand the value of diverse perspectives and experiences, we're looking for talented professionals who want to reignite their careers as part of our involvement in the insurance cross-company Returners Programme.
The opportunity:
Markel's Legal team facilitates the sustainable growth of the business by providing commercially minded legal advice in a broad range of corporate and business activities. We focus on the high-risk and high-value areas where we can add the most strategic benefit, helping our clients navigate challenges and enable opportunities.
We work closely with underwriters, claims adjusters, directors, and the strategy and finance teams, sometimes in conjunction with external legal advisers. We aim to be an inclusive and supportive team where lawyers can grow and flourish. We are constantly looking for better ways to do things, improving our processes and sharing learnings within the team and with the business. We keep a hybrid work schedule and are committed to working flexibly in a way that works for individual team members.
