This is an exciting opportunity to join our legal team. We are looking for an experienced Legal Counsel, on a part-time basis, who has experience working in fintech. You will be responsible for drafting, negotiating and advising on client and vendor agreements as well as working with wider project teams to deliver legal support to the business. This is a stand-alone role within the company as it starts to scale globally.
This role is on a part-time basis, with circa 20 hours a week across 4 or 5 working days. Flexibility will occasionally be required, to support calls or meetings with clients outside of these hours.
What you’ll do
Key responsibilities in this role will include (but not be limited to):
· Reviewing and negotiating GSS client agreements (these are global banks, and you will need to be comfortable working with in-house and external legal teams supporting the bank);
· Reviewing and negotiating vendor agreements and NDA’s;
· Working with the GSS privacy and compliance team to ensure that all GSS contracts and practices comply with regulation as it stands and is updated from time to time;
· Developing/maintaining GSS standard contract templates and know-how material;
· Anticipating, identifying and advising on IP, competition, and employment issues and advising on disputes as they may arise;
· Developing and providing training and legal updates to the business on various areas of the law and regulatory matters and
· Being a trusted advisor to the executive team and working with the business as a whole to provide a legal resource available for ad-hoc queries that may arise.
About you
What you’ll need
· To be a qualified solicitor, with ideally 8+ years’ PQE, with strong experience with commercial and technology contracts within a fintech environment;
· To be able to take a Pragmatic and customer-focused approach to risk management;
· To be able to work alone and as part of a team as required.
