The Role:
As a Legal Secretary in a property department, you will provide support in residential and commercial areas. While experience in both fields is preferred, training can be provided.
Duties:
- Prepare correspondence and documents through audio-typing and word processing.
- Administer filing, including daily filing and management of client files.
- Prepare mail and enclosures for despatch.
- Arrange appointments, meetings, and maintain an up-to-date diary.
- Answer incoming telephone calls.
- Provide support to other secretaries and offer guidance to junior staff.
- Attend to clients in person and on the phone with professionalism and friendliness.
- Undertake specific training as required and contribute to self-development.
- Ensure confidentiality of firm and client documentation.
Requirements:
- Previously worked as a Legal Secretary, Legal Administrator, Legal Assistant, Legal Clerk or in a similar role.
- Typing speed of at least 70 wpm and high accuracy.
- Good spelling, punctuation, and attention to detail.
- Excellent audio-typing skills.
- Skilled with Word and Outlook.
- Familiarity with layout of relevant legal documents.
- Pleasant telephone manner.
