The role:
We are seeking to recruit a Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive to manage our Legal Services team and act as DeputyMonitoring Officer. We would expect the successful candidate to add value and ensure Rushcliffe stays ahead of the game by working closely with officers across the Council in delivering an ambitious and challenging corporate programme.
The post holder will be responsible for the day to day management of the legal team and will undertake a wide variety of legal work to provide a professional and effective legal service to the Council and its Parishes. We are seeking an applicant with demonstrable people skills, experience of working in a team and with technical abilities across at least one or more of the above areas of law, particularly planning.
Previous local authority experience is not required, this is a great opportunity to develop your skills and career at an award winning local authority. Rushcliffe Borough Council operates in a three tier local authority area working closely with Nottinghamshire County Council, other neighbouring councils, and the 41 parish councils in Rushcliffe.
About you:
You will have experience in one or more of the following work areas: planning, property transactions (sale and purchase/commercial), regulatory prosecutions, contract/procurement and/or civil litigation.
