We’ll open your eyes to the future of automotive technology, giving you a platform to make a real difference to JLR and our customers, whilst enabling you to complete your Level 3 apprenticeship and achieve a vocational qualification relevant to your apprenticeship programme.

The BAC produces plug in electric vehicle batteries for our Range Rover and Range Rover Sport Hybrid models. It is one of the most innovative and technologically advanced facilities of its kind in the UK, employing next-generation production techniques and manufacturing technologies.

As an apprentice at the BAC, you will explore a number of different departments such as; Laser Welding, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Planning and Logistics, Quality, and the Maintenance of some of the latest cutting-edge technologies, with all areas being involved with creating Automotive Battery/ Propulsion technologies. This will not only allow you to apply your theoretical learnt knowledge, but you will also learn real-life practical, essential and professional skills. You can expect to be working on projects under the supervision of some great team members with masses of experience.

The Apprenticeship

The Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship – Manufacturing is an exciting four-year programme which will develop your practical skills and cultivate the knowledge you need for your role, including business behaviours such as team working and problem-solving.

Your apprenticeship pathway will depend upon the area of the business in which you will be based. You will be asked for your preference on business area ahead of attending an assessment with us.

During your apprenticeship, you can expect to spend a significant amount of your first year at your training provider: MAKE UK, Birmingham, B6 7EP. In your first year you’ll complement your studies by working at a JLR plant alongside members of our skilled teams. In subsequent years, you will predominantly work in the plant, and you’ll continue your studies leading up to your End Point Assessment. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will have constant guidance and support from both the business and the training provider.

What's Required?

You will need to have achieved or be on track to achieve GCSE Maths and English Language at level 4 (C) alongside three further GCSEs at level 4 (C) or higher, including one STEM (science, technology, engineering or maths) subject or an Engineering vocational qualification at Level 3/90 credits/540 GLH or higher.
