Vacancy –  Level 3   1:1Teaching Assistant

 

Responsible for: Care and supporting learning for one designated child in Pre-school  (Summer Term 2024) / Reception (Autumn Term 2024 onwards) with SEND

Term: Fixed Term linked to named child with EHCP   Start date: ASAP

Days: Monday - Friday Term Time Only (38 weeks) Hours: 32.5 hours per week

 

Amblecote Primary School and its Governors are looking to appoint an experienced Level 3Teaching Assistant with 1:1 responsibility to join our very successful school team.   

We are looking for someone who is passionate about providing the best education for pupils with Special Educational Needs and can provide the very best educational support for every pupil.  

Applicants should possess relevant qualifications and experience suitable for working with children of primary school age and experience of supporting children with special educational needs - including physical / mobility needs is essential.  

The role will require the following:   

 

  • Experience of successfully supporting pupils Special Education Needs – including physical / mobility needs 
  • Experience of supporting a child on a 1:1 basis. 
  • Experience of working with children with physical, cognitive, communication and social needs. 
  • Can carry out personal and intimate care duties 
  • Experience of delivering successful intervention programmes and / or a personalised curriculum.  
  • Has experience of using visual resources effectively to aid communication and understanding. 
  • Can maintain a safe and positive environment for all learners 
  • Provide support for all children at break and lunchtimes 
  • Can plan, prepare and participate in a range of activities that promotes the child’s holistic development, including physical, cognitive, emotional needs and encourages social interaction between the child and other children and adults. 
  • A clear understanding of appropriate professional relationships and protocols when working with pupils and parents. 
  • Works in collaboration with other Senior Leaders, SENDCo, Teachers, Teaching Assistants and Lunchtime Supervisors 
  • A willingness to undertake additional training as requested 
  • An ability to work as a team alongside the Class Teacher and other Teaching Assistants 
  • A flexible approach to working 
  • A warm, patient and nurturing disposition 
  • Experience in delivering individual language, literacy, numeracy and social intervention programmes 
  • Excellent basic skills in Literacy, Numeracy and ICT as well as an excellent command of spoken English 
  • Administering first aid when necessary and completing all relevant paperwork.
