We have a rare opportunity to join our Stock and Resources team at the Core Library, located in Solihull town centre.
As Library Stock & Resources Assistant you will play a key role in ensuring we deliver a range of services to customers at our 13 Library sites across the borough. Responsibilities will include ensuring a timely supply of library materials and non-book resources and efficient ordering, receipting, and invoicing of transactions. You will also deal with customers and suppliers and respond to a range of queries including unstocked items.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, with a passion for public library resources and services and who:
- Has relevant customer service experience
- Can demonstrate experience and confidence in using information and digital technology, including use of databases, financial systems and Microsoft Office
- Can work effectively in a team environment.
- Has effective written and verbal communication skills and is able to assist customers and colleagues with a range of queries.
- Ability to carry out manual handling tasks including shelving resources and loading and moving trolleys.
Whilst hours of work are negotiable you must be able to work every Friday and have a flexible approach to working hours.
In return we offer you a varied and interesting role, with the opportunity to be a key part of the Libraries team.
Working for Solihull means that we can also offer employees a great working environment, an extensive wellbeing offer, as well as attractive staff benefits including a generous leave entitlement, staff discounts and access to the Local Government pension scheme.
