Salary: £36,524 - £41,792 per annum (pro rata)

Fixed Term Contract 12 months (maternity cover)

Thurrock is a busy unitary borough bordering the river Thames in Essex, close to London and home to the Lakeside Shopping Centre. We offer the opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed person to join our small, dedicated team who deal with the administration, processing and enforcement of all aspects of Local Authority Licensing, with this role particularly focusing on taxi licensing.

We are seeking to recruit an experienced licensing professional to undertake daily the processing, validation and consultation of applications received, associated enforcement work, and report preparation and presentation in support of the licensing subcommittee. The ideal candidate must have:
- Excellent organisational skills.
- The ability to cope with processing a high volume of applications efficiently, whilst meeting statutory timescales.
- Experience in Local Authority Licensing subject areas, ideally taxis.
- Experience in the enforcement of licensing matters, including preparation and presentation at committee or at court.

The applicant must also be flexible in their approach to the delivery of the service and must be prepared to support collaborative working with other local authorities, in the delivery of a modern licensing service.

A Basic DBS check will be required.
