Paralegal / Litigation Executive – This ‘top tier’ international law firm is looking for a Paralegal or Litigation Executive with EL/PL experience, preferably from a defendant perspective. The role is designed to enable you to run your own caseload of casualty EL/PL files whilst assisting other fee earners on a range of matters.

• Salary: £23,000 – £26,000
• Work pattern: Hybrid
• Reports to: Team Leader
• Expertise: Around one year or more of experience as a personal injury paralegal or legal executive dealing with small claims / and or fast track personal injury EL/PL. Applicants with pre-litigated EL/PL experience will also be considered.

More about the opportunity

The hiring managers are looking for someone with experience of handling their own caseload of EL/PL matters, ideally from a defendant perspective though claimant experience will also be considered. You will have the opportunity to gain experience in a wide variety of work. The role will vary depending on your experience, but as a guide, you will be:

• Handling fast track and assisting on more complex multi track EL/PL work;
• drafting CNFs;
• drafting variety of court documents including witness statements;
• drafting instructions to counsel and medical experts;
• drafting Schedules of Loss and court documents,
• reviewing medical evidence;
• assessing liability and quantum;
• preparing bundles;
• liaising with clients where necessary.

Varied client base from ‘tier 1’ insurers to local authorities and emergency services

The EL/PL team represents insurer and corporate clients in a variety of legal disputes from fast track ‘slips n trips’ to accidents at work and high profile multi track and Large Loss matters.

They also advise a number of public bodies including local authorities and emergency services such as the police. As a result, claims can include more niche specialist areas such as injuries sustained whilst in Police custody as well as other areas such as misfeasance.
