Job description

Role Responsibility

Kent Enablement at Home (KEaH) provide domiciliary-based short term enablement services across Kent.

We are looking to recruit a Locality Organiser to work in a busy role managing the delivery of the in-house enablement services to people in their own homes.

If you have experience within health and social care, we would love to hear from you. We are offering the opportunity to join a friendly, dynamic, and supportive team which promotes professional development.

This post holder will oversee the Kent Enablement at Home Canterbury team.

The successful candidate will be working as part of the East Kent KEaH Management Team, managing a team of frontline staff, and reporting to the KEaH East Kent Operational Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has the ability to work well under pressure, and manage a variety of conflicting priorities. We are looking for a motivated and proactive individual who also needs to be flexible in their approach, and ready to embrace new ways of working to help further shape our services.

We are looking for a person who wants to make a difference to the people we serve, and who will work collaboratively with internal and external partners, focusing on promoting independence for the people we support.

The role requires overseeing the Canterbury Team to manage a caseload of people with support needs requiring domiciliary services (including enablement/assessment provision), identifying their appropriate level of need, and to enable people on our service to maintain, or regain their independence.

The Locality Organiser is responsible for:

The line management of a large and diverse staffing team and all the HR requirements for these team members.

Maintaining a high-level quality service and compliance with our Regulator the Care Quality Commission, and all their regulations and standards.

Ensuring that the service complies with the Kent and Medway Multi-Agency Safeguarding Adults Policy and Procedures.

Leading and managing the recruitment and development of staff with varying skill sets, overseeing compliance with our mandatory training programme.

Responsible for the day to day running of the service, including service data review, and compliance with inclusion and diversion policies, Health and Safety, and data protection processes.

Delivering a fast moving enablement service working with the Business Support Team to ensure that work rosters are maintained to meet the needs of the people we support.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate that they meet the conditions of the Job Description and Person Specification.

We require the successful candidate to have excellent communication skills both verbal and written, and good IT literacy, as the post involves daily use of computerised systems.

A Diploma in Health and Social Care at level 5, or the willingness to work towards it.

Proven experience of enablement or domiciliary based services, and knowledge of the requirements under the Care Act 2014 would be beneficial.

The successful candidate will be working flexibly from the Swale Local Office and from home, and from other Kent County Council offices as required to meet business need.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
