Key Duties of the Post Managing the whole spectrum of emergency surgical patients in ED, the wards and in theatre Assistance and supervision of the F1 doctors and ANP/ACPs with the management of emergency surgical patients Management of elective GI surgical patients in theatres, in clinic and on the wards Assistance and supervision of the F1 doctors and ANP/ACPs with the management of elective surgical patients Teaching and training undergraduates as well as postgraduates Medical education research Quality assurance of the service and individual practice Participating in departmental clinical governance meetings The rota pattern is a full shift 1 in 16 (50%) with appropriate remuneration. All rotas comply with the New Deal, EWTD and 2016 contract.
