About us

This is an exciting opportunity to join our client as a Locations Intelligence Analyst/Database Building Consultant in a Business Consulting firm where data and location strategy are a key focus for their clients in the Retail, Hospitality, Finance and Care sectors.

The key element of the role is to design and build onsite client systems. Every system is highly customised and therefore requires creativity and a keen eye for detail.

This role will also involve talking to our Users to understand their use of the system and to assist them in getting the best out of it.

Their customer support function is business-focused, and as such you will need both technical and numeracy skills alongside business knowledge.

You should have a good understanding of database concepts and be comfortable with talking to clients on the telephone. You will also need sound IT literacy and hands-on PC experience.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Building and designing the onsite Database systems for clients.
• Supporting and advising our clients over the telephone, email and/or screen share on the use and application of the system as well as troubleshooting technical issues.
• Delivery and online deployment of the onsite systems including:
oReporting (excel and PowerBI).
oData update packages.
oSoftware installations.
oInternal projects.
• Software testing.

Ideally you will have:

• A degree (or equivalent) in Geography, Maths, GIS or related subject.
• Experience in setting up servers (AD management).
• Advanced Excel skills, Excel power query knowledge.
• Basic VBA skills.
• Report and dashboard design skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 - especially Excel, Teams and Outlook.
• Good written & verbal communication, presentation and numeracy skills.
• Good attention to detail.
• Knowledge of/interest in Data and Geographical Information Systems.

Candidates must have an existing right to live and work in the UK.
