Detailed job description and main responsibilities
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
This is a full time (10 PA; 8 DCC/2 SPA) post. Part time applicants are also invited. You need to be fully registered with the GMC and have a CCT in General and Respiratory Medicine, or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. The applicant will be joining a large department of 27 consultants colleagues including Academic Professors, with multiple sub-specialty interests.
The successful applicant will also join the general respiratory on call rota (1:13). This includes cover for the medical wards out of hours as well as our 9 bedded Respiratory High Dependency Unit (RHDU), the COVID HDU (up to 14 beds) as well as our CF patients both within the hospital and the community.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Individuals wishing to apply must be fully registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and should be either already on or within 6 months of eligibility to be included on the specialist register of the GMC.
The successful candidate will be employed under the terms and conditions of service for Consultants (England) 2003.

Getting to Work
Application can be made for parking on site at UHS or through one of the park and ride schemes. This will be based on specific criteria to determine eligibility for site parking as this can be very limited. UHS encourages staff to utilise other green methods of getting to work such as cycling or walking where possible. UHS is well connected through bus services to the city centre and other areas.
