Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Locum Psychiatrist to join our team within the NHS Trust. As a Locum Psychiatrist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality psychiatric care to patients within our trust. This position is suitable for doctors in training from ST1 to ST3 level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric assessments and evaluations of patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with mental health disorders.
- Monitor and review the progress of patients under your care, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
- Provide crisis intervention and management for patients experiencing acute psychiatric episodes.
- Participate in regular clinical supervision and training sessions to support your professional development.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in accordance with trust policies and guidelines.
- Adhere to professional standards, ethical guidelines, and relevant legislation in the provision of psychiatric care.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a license to practice in the UK.
- Membership or eligibility for membership with the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
- Completion of Foundation Year training (or equivalent) and progression to Specialty Training Level 1 (ST1) or higher in Psychiatry.
- Relevant experience in psychiatry, preferably within a hospital or clinical setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Understanding of and commitment to safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
- Willingness to adhere to NHS Trust policies and procedures, including compliance with relevant quality and safety standards.
