Job description

Basic Salary: £42,000

Location: Braintree, Essex

Hours/Shifts: 37.5 hours per week

The role is responsible for operational and line management of the Assessment, Adaptation and Ceiling Track Teams ensuring these areas operate effectively and achieve internal and external KPIs, within the allocated budget and to agreed quality standards.

This role includes direct one to one Contract facing communications and the line management of staff and all associated but not limited to performance and conduct related matters. Pro-actively monitoring and improving KPI performance, as well as responsibility for delegated budget management, identifying any areas of operational non-compliance, implementing continuous improvements, and sharing best practice.

The Role

  • Take a lead role in the management of the service
  • Respond to service user’s and contract maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • To demonstrate a practical knowledge within the DIY and building industry.
  • Following all relevant building and health and safety regulations.
  • Joint visits with medical professionals to risk assess and share technician’s expertise and knowledge for tasks to be carried out.
  • To undertake risk assessments and all relevant RAM documentation

Requirements:

  • Experience within a maintenance / building or other similar role.
  • Knowledge of hardware tools and power equipment.
  • Extremely organised with good communication skills.
  • Detail-orientated with an aptitude for problem-solving.
  • Can build effective teams in non-complex situations or in areas of functional/technical expertise; creates team spirit; develops roles/responsibilities, defines success in terms of the team
  • A people developer; sees development as his/her responsibility; may hold development discussions; organises development opportunities; may not have a comprehensive plan
  • Creates a climate where a majority of people want to do their best; can motivate; can recognise some people’s hot button and how to use it to get the best out of him/her; has some ability to empower and involve; is someone a majority of people like working for and with
  • Manages/responds to medium/low level conflict situations; can normally create agreement and settle these disputes
  • Relates well to all kinds of people; builds appropriate rapport; builds constructive and effective relationships; uses diplomacy and tact; can diffuse even difficult situations.
