Our client based at Alfreton are looking for 2 experienced Operations managers to join their team on a permanent full time basic. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in Logistics and operations and people management. You will be self-motivated with a flexible, can do attitude to works work and be willing to throw yourself head first into learning the ins and outs of a new role right from day one.

Responsibilities:

• Manage, plan and coordinate
• Maintaining a delivery tracker / schedule
• Maintaining a delivery board
• Organising and coordinating deliveries with the supply chain
• Ensuring delivery drivers are inducted
• Managing delivery areas in accordance
• Ensuring all deliveries are recorded and delivery paperwork retained
• Organising and coordinating with waste contractors for the collection of waste
• Ensuring all collections are recorded and collection paperwork retained
• Using real-time data collection to increase accuracy and lower labour costs
• Maintaining computerised administration, stock inventory and retrieval systems
• Enforcing health standards, safety and security procedures
• Enforcing company rules and regulations
• Managing staff, building teams, training employees and monitoring production performance
• Communicating and interacting with clients, vendors, suppliers and customers
• Overseeing logistics of receiving, warehousing and dispatch operations
• Meeting regularly with warehouse leads to assess, analyse and develop actionable plans for loss prevention and productivity.
• Performing general maintenance of the machinery used in the warehouse
• Conduction sales calls to grow company profits

Skills / Experience

• At least 3 years operations/ transport planning experience
• Previous experience of supervision of site logistics role
• Experience with online booking system
• Demonstrates strong communication skills and ability to multitask
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise
• Flexibility
• Self-motivated
• Hands on and willing to learn
• Confident in making management decisions
